Chief Master Gee

Master Instructor Mark Gildemeester has been training and teaching in the martial arts for more than 30 years. He holds an 8th level Black Belt from the Canadian Martial Arts Federation, with multiple Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Jiu Jitsu, Modern Ninjutsu and Kickboxing. He is committed to a lifetime of study and is forever learning.

Master Gee holds the designation of Grand Master and lends his expertise to supporting management excellence for martial arts businesses across North America, sitting as the Canadian representative on the advisory board for the Educational Funding Company and the American Martial Arts Organization.

The proudest moments in Master Gee’s life have always revolved around family and martial arts, and he has successfully brought the two together in his family-run martial arts academy. He is very grateful for the role he plays every day in helping students reach their goals, working alongside his wife, daughter and son.

Fun fact: Years ago, Master Gee worked high above the concert floor as a spotlight operator for dozens of rock shows, including Pink Floyd. He has maintained a healthy respect for heights and recently stepped outside on top of the highest building in the world in China.

Mr. Power

Master

D.J. Power is a popular instructor among our youngest students because of his kind and encouraging approach to martial arts. Mr. Power began training at Master Gee’s in 2005 and is currently working toward his 2nd Degree Black Belt. When he’s not teaching at the academy, Mr. Power likes to play bass guitar and drums. And in spite of his expertise in self-defense techniques, he’s regularly defeated in battle by his cat “Bubbles”.

Don’t forget to follow us on social media to be the first one to find out what's new in our company.

No matter where you are in your journey, we offer a class for you, young and older.

Health, strength, discipline and fun family time is all part of our class structure. Alone, or with other family members, join us.

Tigers (ages 4-7)

We love working with young children and contributing to their development. Master Gee’s Tigers classes are designed especially to meet the needs and abilities of children aged 4-7. From time to time, we will accept three-year-olds who are truly ready to begin training.

Our fun-filled, encouraging approach to martial arts helps our Tigers build confidence while they develop fundamental physical, social and emotional skills.

Master Gee’s has an excellent safety record. We don’t allow students to engage in physical contact with each other until they have gained control of their kicks and punches and learned how to block (defend) and roll safely.

Juniors (ages 8-12)

For children aged 8-12, our Juniors classes develop a full range of martial arts skills and techniques. Our curriculum focuses on children’s physical skills as well as their emotional and mental well being.

Experienced instructors guide Juniors to learn and practice a variety of punching and kicking moves and sequences. Juniors practice various self defense techniques and learn how to use safe and non-confrontational approaches to protect themselves. Each Juniors class also includes a group discussion on the essentials of good character.

Teens & Adults (13+)

Master Gee’s Adult classes are offered for all students aged 13 and older. Teens are treated with respect and encouragement and expected to demonstrate maturity and commitment.

We’re delighted when a parent decides to enroll in our martial arts classes. Not only are they making a commitment to their own health and wellness, they’re acting as positive role models for their children. Sharing the training experience together is great for family bonding. It’s also economical: we offer special discounts for families of three or more students.
